About Tara Kitcheyan
Chief Patient Experience Officer
Tara Kitcheyan is a proud member of the San Carlos Apache Tribe and is of the Hai’aa’ha (Sunrise People) and born for the Deshchii (Red Streak People). She is an experienced leader who has worked in a multitude of roles servicing Indian Country through grassroots, national and international levels.
She is a product of the San Carlos Unified School District of San Carlos, Az, is a graduate of Arizona State University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in American Indian Studies and has received her Master’s in Legal studies from the University of Oklahoma College of Law.
Prior to joining the San Carlos Apache Healthcare Corporation, Tara has worked with the San Carlos Police Department, San Carlos Unified School District, National Indian Health Board, the National Congress of American Indians, and most recently with the Resolution Copper – Rio Tinto Mining Corporation where she was the Senior Advisor for Native American Affairs. Here at SCAHC she continues this work with the mindset of service to people and community.
She is a member of the Sen Gaa Isdzane Association, the Miss Indian Arizona Association, and is the 2016 recipient of the AZ Big Media Leadership Spotlight. Tara is honored and humbled to be of service to her community, the San Carlos Apaches. Having oversight of the Patient Experience and Marketing Departments truly position her to be the bridge of communication; ensuring that every patient has a voice and is receiving the best care possible.
