Chief Financial Officer
Jim Smith began his duties as the Corporation’s Chief Financial officer in April 2016. In concert with the Board of Directors and leadership team, he is responsible for guiding the organization’s financial viability. His stewardship includes internal and external financial reporting, banking relations, investment management, budgeting, cost management, revenue cycle management, purchased referred care, supply chain management and health information management.
Mr. Smith has 39 years of health care industry financial management experience, most of that as chief financial officer with hospitals and health systems of various size and complexity. Prior to joining the Corporation, he served as Senior Director of Finance for the NorthBay Healthcare System in Fairfield, CA. He graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, and is an Advanced Member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association. Mr. Smith is a licensed Certified Public Accountant, fulfilling his experience requirement as a Senior Auditor with Arthur Young & Co. (now Ernst & Young) in their San Francisco office’s Northern California Health Care Practice.
